The Honorable Rosann Wowchuk Visits Ste Rose

The Honorable Rosann Wowchuk, Deputy Premier, Minister of Agriculture, Food and Rural Initiatives, Minister Responsible for Cooperative Development visited Ste Rose du Lac on Friday, February 11, 2005 at 2:30 p.m. She presented several cheques to the participants of the Hometown Manitoba Program. The Town of Ste Rose du Lac made application for the Hometown Manitoba Downtown Streetscape Project in February, 2004. The project involved the purchase and installation of concrete waste containers, picnic tables, planters, benches and interlocking pavers (stones/bricks for patterned sidewalk). In 2004, the Town of Ste Rose du Lac incurred expenditures in the amount of $28,980.60, towards the enhancement of the Main Street. The Hometown Manitoba Downtown Streetscape Funding provides funding to a maximum of $5,000.00. In conjunction with the application made by the Town, various businesses and or non-profit organizations made application for funding, for the Hometown Main Streets Enhancements Project. The following outlines the list of applicants: Rural Municipality of Ste Rose The above were required to spend a minimum of $2000.00 in expenses to be eligible to receive a maximum of $1000.00 from the provincial program.
